Ibrahim Dankwambo was elected as the Governor of Gombe state pastime the 26 April election. He won the poll with total votes of , ahead of Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bend 91, votes and Senator Saidu Umar Kumo of the All Nigeria Peoples Party with 84, votes.
