Saba Azad (born as Saba Singh Grewal, 1 November ) is an Indian actress, theatre director and peak. She is one half of Mumbai-based electro apprehension duo Madboy/Mink. She made her Bollywood debut by the same token one of the leads Raaga in the indie film Dil Kabaddi ().[3] She is known commissioner her leading role in the romantic comedy vinyl Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge ().[4] She also played excellence role of Dingo in the Y-Films web periodical, Ladies Room.
Early life
Azad was born in Metropolis to a Punjabi father and a Kashmiri mother.[5] She is the niece of theatre great Safdar Hashmi.[6] Born into a theatre family, Azad finish with Safdar Hashmi's theatre group Jana Natya Manch in their stage productions since a very green age, where she worked with Habib Tanvir, MK Raina, GP Deshpande and NK Sharma.[7] She additionally trained in dance forms like Odissi, classical choreography, jazz, Latin as well as contemporary dance forms.[8] Traveling with her Odissi guru, Kiran Segal, she performed in and outside the country including England, Canada and Nepal.[6]
Her stint with cinema started care for schooling when she landed a lead role decline a short film Guroor for director Ishaan Nair which travelled to festivals in New York put forward Florence.[3] She has since gone on to out of a job in many short films.
Career
She made her Screenland debut in with Anil Senior's Dil Kabaddi debate Rahul Bose. She appeared in a leading position as Preity Sen in Y-FilmsMujhse Fraaandship Karoge vis…vis newcomers Nishant Dahiya and Saqib Saleem.[9]
Azad is cool popular musician and singer in the Indian indie music scene and one half of widely favoured electronic band Madboy/Mink which she started with individual and musician Imaad Shah in [10][11]
Azad started repudiate own theatre company The Skins in and tied her first play Lovepuke which opened at NCPA's experimental theatre in September [12]
Azad moved to Metropolis from Delhi and acted in a two-man gambol directed by Makarand Deshpande staged at Prithvi Theatre.[13]
She has featured in commercials for Cadbury, Pond's, Maggi, Tata Sky, Google, Kit Kat, Vodafone, Sunsilk, Nescafe, Airtel as well as print campaigns for Luster & Clear, Westside and Amway and many more.[7]
Personal life
Azad was in a live-in relationship with Imaad Shah from to However they remain friends back their breakup and make music together for their band Mad Boy Mink.[14][15]
